สมาคมไทย-อเมริกันฯได้ก่อตั้งเป็นสมาคมที่ถูกต้องตามกฎหมายมาตั้งแต่วันที่ ๗ ตุลาคม ๑๙๘๖ วัตถุประสงค์หลักของสมาคมฯคือ ๑)ส่งเสริมพุทธศาสนาและขนบธรรม เนียม ประเพณีไทย ๒)ส่งเสริม ความ เจริญก้าวหน้าของคนไทย ๓)สร้างความเข้าใจที่ดี ต่อกันระหว่างกลุ่มคนไทย และกลุ่มชนชาติอื่นๆ และ๔) ช่วยเหลือซึ่งกันและกันระหว่าง กลุ่มคนไทยและกลุ่มคนชาติอื่นๆ

Thai-American Association of South Florida has been incorporated since October 7, 1986 as a non-profit organization. The primary purpose is for the development and advancement of Thai-American relations in Florida and to conserve the Thai Culture and Buddhism.
